November 14-17, 2019 – Scialog: Advanced Energy Storage

Alex has been named a Scialog Fellow and will participate in the 2019 Scialog: Advanced Energy Storage. Scialog is a platform of the Research Corporation for Science and Advancement meant to foster “research, intensive dialog and community building to address scientific challenges of global significance”.

September 16, 2019 – A New Group Member

Jose Torres has joined the group as a postdoc. Welcome to Columbia! Jose was previously a postdoc at Stanford University and graduated from the University of St Andrews.

Jianzhou has passed his qualification exam. Congratulations!

July 17, 2019 – Clean Tech Competition

The Spellman HV Clean Tech Competition is an international research and design challenge for high-school students. Alex was a guest speaker at the 2019 Clean Tech Competition that was this year held in the Cooper Union. Great to see students from all around the world being excited about their research projects and thinking about ways towards a clean-energy future.

Together with Prof. Yuan Yang (APAM), we have received a SEAS Interdisciplinary Research Seed (SIRS) award to start a research project on polymer-electrolyte batteries.

Columbia Engineering Launches New Center for Research into Renewable Energy and Energy Storage

We are founding members and among the core faculty of the newly established Columbia Electrochemical Energy Center (CEEC).
